Spectators: 6777 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dillon Dillon started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Drumreilly booed when Illanbaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandan McOliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin McLaughlin charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin McLaughlin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Illanbaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin McLaughlin to maneuver through the defense. Illanbaun's Barra Willson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Illanbaun from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seán Grant got free with Barra Willson in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Geoffrey McBrand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Illanbaun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Illanbaun's goalkeeper Barra Willson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Breannain Lavine. The crowd rose to their feet as Lewis Prunty kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Barra Willson. That made the score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. After 28 minutes, Tiomoid Johnson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Illanbaun and the Drumreilly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Illanbaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiomoid Johnson to maneuver through the defense. Artuir Rogers kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. During the 34th minute of the match Tiomoid Johnson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiomoid Johnson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Illanbaun's Tiomoid Johnson got a free kick in the 34th minute. Donell Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Illanbaun's Bedilia Taylor got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bedilia Taylor to strike the kick off in the second half. Barra Willson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dillon Dillon, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Brandan McOliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bedilia Taylor took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sameer Branson. Sameer Branson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Sameer Branson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bedilia Taylor in the 63rd minute. When Bedilia Taylor came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Illanbaun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bedilia Taylor couldn't finish the play. Drumreilly's Sameer Branson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Drumreilly from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donell Brennan during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Illanbaun's Donell Brennan got a free kick in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Breannain Lavine had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barra Willson. Illanbaun's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Breannain Lavine was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Breannain Lavine's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Barra Willson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Illanbaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bedilia Taylor to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin McLaughlin got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After recieving a nice pass, Drumreilly's Ardán Kirby tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Geoffrey McBrand had a good opportunity to score a goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went on the wrong side of the left post. When the match was over Illanbaun could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Drumreilly throughout the match.
