Tevis McCready didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoffrey McBrand went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Brandan McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Tevis McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Geoffrey McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Illanbaun getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bedilia Taylor hit a great ball. When Baolach McJames came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Blackpool fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baolach McJames couldn't finish the play. Barra Willson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Healey McLian in the 21st minute. In the 30th match minute, Blackpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donoghue Callaghan to maneuver through the defense. Geoffrey McBrand might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tevis McCready. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geoffrey McBrand ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Blackpool's goal looked a bit too open when Beara Bayes came free, but Tevis McCready reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Blackpool's zone, Geoffrey McBrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tevis McCready came out of the goal and Geoffrey McBrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brosnan Byrne during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Blackpool's Brosnan Byrne got a free kick in the 46th minute. The audience cheered when Beara Bayes's long shot passed Tevis McCready's right side. It was 1-3, 48 minutes into the match. After the first half Illanbaun were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Healey McLian to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55thth minute of the game Geoffrey McBrand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blackpool's Tevis McCready was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geoffrey McBrand might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tevis McCready. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geoffrey McBrand ran back to his position shaking his head. Blackpool's Brosnan Byrne managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bil Gallagher in the 63 minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Geoffrey McBrand reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tevis McCready. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 70th minute, Bedilia Taylor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geoffrey McBrand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Tevis McCready made a huge save. With a little luck, Blackpool's Tevis McCready got control of the ball when Geoffrey McBrand tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bedilia Taylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th match minute, Blackpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Healey McLian to maneuver through the defense. Illanbaun's Bedilia Taylor got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoffrey McBrand in the 95th minute of play forced Blackpool's goalkeeper Tevis McCready to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Blackpool fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Illanbaun were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
