In the 3rd minute, Healey McLian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brosnan Byrne hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Blathmac Deans kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tevis McCready. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. With a little luck, Blackpool's Tevis McCready got control of the ball when Arthur Lester tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Healey McLian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gehan McLian was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 20th minute Blathmac Deans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tevis McCready saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Lester got free with Tevis McCready in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Geary Gallagher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tevis McCready. Blackpool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geary Gallagher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Healey McLian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tevis McCready showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brain McAlphie in the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 63rd minute Healey McLian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gehan McLian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gehan McLian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Healey McLian in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Abbeyleix Utd's zone, Healey McLian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gehan McLian came out of the goal and Healey McLian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After recieving a nice pass, Abbeyleix Utd's Brain McAlphie tried to score from far away in the 75th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Abbeyleix Utd's Gehan McLian got control of the ball when Healey McLian tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Blackpool's Ryan McPhilip got a free kick in the 84th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Carrigan McFrank threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blackpool's Cacey McLian quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
