Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gilbert Hamilton kicked off to start the match. Barra Willson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Hamilton in the 10th minute of the match. Illanbaun's Barra Willson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Hamilton in the 14th minute of play. Barra Willson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barrie Doyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barra Willson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barrie Doyle in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Hamilton in the 20th minute of play forced Illanbaun's goalkeeper Barra Willson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Illanbaun getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tyrone Cooney hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Bairne Harkin made a precise shot to the right of Barra Willson. Illanbaun's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Geoffrey McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bedilia Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley Ryan having to interfere. In the 37th minute Gilbert Hamilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barra Willson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Illanbaun's Geoffrey McBrand got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barra Willson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Hamilton , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Geoffrey McBrand struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Barley Ryan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Illanbaun. Irwin Hughes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Gilbert Hamilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Barra Willson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Brasil McSteve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Brasil McSteve could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Barra Willson however easily saved by the left post. Barra Willson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Hamilton in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Barrie Doyle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brennanshill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barrie Doyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barra Willson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Hamilton , who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Brasil McSteve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bil Gallagher kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
