Spectators: 6799 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1799, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gilbert Hamilton got the match started through his kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bairne Harkin in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gehan McLian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brasil McSteve succeeded in the game's 7th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Brasil McSteve's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Gehan McLian skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Blathmac Deans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arthur Lester came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Abbeyleix Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Lester couldn't finish the play. When Abbeyleix Utd's Blathmac Deans, in the 19th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Abbeyleix Utd. Gehan McLian made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Brasil McSteve sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd minute Gilbert Hamilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gehan McLian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barley Ryan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Lester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Brennanshill FC's zone, Blathmac Deans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barley Ryan came out of the goal and Blathmac Deans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blathmac Deans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Barley Ryan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd match minute, Brennanshill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bairne Harkin to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Geary Gallagher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abbeyleix Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Geary Gallagher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barley Ryan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arthur Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Barley Ryan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bairne Harkin hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Breanne McPhilip hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 55 minutes Brennanshill FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rourke Costello who took care of the corner kick. Rourke Costello made a great header on Abbeyleix Utd's corner, it was just that Brennanshill FC's Barley Ryan managed to reach the ball for a save. Arthur Lester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley Ryan having to interfere. Gehan McLian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brasil McSteve's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the game, Gilbert Hamilton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gehan McLian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Abbeyleix Utd's Brain McAlphie got a free kick in the 69th minute. Gilbert Hamilton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Brede Holt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abbeyleix Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brennanshill FC the free kick. Brede Holt hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When Geary Gallagher fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abbeyleix Utd's protests and gave Geary Gallagher a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Abbeyleix Utd got a freekick which was hit by Geary Gallagher. Gehan McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brasil McSteve, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilbert Hamilton in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gehan McLian saved Abbeyleix Utd from getting behind. Brennanshill FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Abbeyleix Utd for a fine match.
