But to his dismay, Breed Johnson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The Ballinadee players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Abbeyville were winning 0-2.

If Coileán Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Abbeyville getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Rollan McVictor hit a great ball. The Abbeyville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fionntán Dunne should have stopped the shot. Fionntán Dunne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donlevy McAaron, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Abbeyville's Breed Johnson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Fionntán Dunne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donlevy McAaron, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Abbeyville were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ballinadee side.
