Begley McBjarton started the match with the kick off. Begley McBjarton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hayes McLiam having to make a save. After 21 minutes, Baolach Frankson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donaghmore and the Abbeyville players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baolach Frankson kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Begley McBjarton charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Begley McBjarton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Donaghmore booed when Abbeyville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Begley McBjarton didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Hayes McLiam managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Abbeyville's Breed Johnson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hayes McLiam made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Breed Johnson sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Donaghmore booed when Abbeyville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartley McJames didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breslin McPhilip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Fionntán Dunne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Donaghmore's zone, Begley McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hayes McLiam came out of the goal and Begley McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hayes McLiam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Begley McBjarton, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Abbeyville's Begley McBjarton got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baolach Frankson to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Abbeyville's Fionntán Dunne got control of the ball when Breslin McPhilip tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fionntán Dunne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baolach Frankson in the 52nd minute of the match. Baolach Frankson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Fionntán Dunne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abbeyville's Fionntán Dunne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Abbeyville from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the match, Donaghmore's goal looked a bit too open when Begley McBjarton came free, but Hayes McLiam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match Breslin McPhilip climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-1 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Fionntán Dunne. Baolach Frankson might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fionntán Dunne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baolach Frankson ran back to his position shaking his head. Baolach Frankson struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Fionntán Dunne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Donaghmore. After 79 played minutes Donaghmore got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert McBjarton. Fionntán Dunne was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Baolach Frankson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baolach Frankson really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Baolach Frankson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Abbeyville's Begley McBjarton got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The Abbeyville supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Donaghmore's performance. The match ended with a win for Donaghmore.
