If Torna Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dunbrin's Nollaig Taylor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Dunbrin from getting a goal against them. Fionntán Dunne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scott Quinnless, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breed Johnson got free with Nollaig Taylor in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fionntán Dunne didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Dunbrin's Baird Taylor shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Baird Taylor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dunbrin's supporters rose to their feet, but Baird Taylor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fionntán Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Baird Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Fergal Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunbrin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fergal Myler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baird Taylor in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fionntán Dunne saved Abbeyville from getting behind. When the match clock showed 48 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Baird Taylor sped through Abbeyville's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fionntán Dunne. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baird Taylor was the one to do the kick off. Baird Taylors short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Fionntán Dunne to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nollaig Taylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Begley McBjarton in the 75th minute of the match. Baird Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fionntán Dunne having to interfere. Nollaig Taylor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breed Johnson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dunbrin's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
