Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Glen McWilliam took the kick off in the first half of the match. Blathmac McSteve's late challenge caught a Cloon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blathmac McSteve helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Donaghmore got a freekick which was hit by Blathmac McSteve. If Roland McPhil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobin Tierney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayes McLiam having to interfere. In the 10th minute Glen McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayes McLiam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breslin McPhilip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Bannon Ryan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cloon getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Donegal Beckett hit a great ball. If Baolach Frankson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cloon's zone, Breslin McPhilip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bannon Ryan came out of the goal and Breslin McPhilip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Cloon's goalkeeper Bannon Ryan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert McBjarton. Breslin McPhilip in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bannon Ryan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hayes McLiam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobin Tierney, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baolach Frankson in the 35th minute of play forced Cloon's goalkeeper Bannon Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donaghmore's Hayes McLiam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobin Tierney in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute Cloon were awarded a corner. Braydon Gollogley went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Braydon Gollogley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Donaghmore's Hayes McLiam did a great save. When Donaghmore's Baolach Frankson in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cloon's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baolach Frankson made a kick off. If Baolach Frankson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bannon Ryan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breslin McPhilip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cloon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! The audience was convinced that Baolach Frankson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bannon Ryan was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Bannon Ryan came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Donaghmore's Baolach Frankson. But to his dismay, Baolach Frankson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Donaghmore's Breslin McPhilip got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Keefe Hunt fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Donaghmore's protests and gave Keefe Hunt a yellow card for diving instead. Keefe Hunt kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Cloon were awarded a corner. Braydon Gollogley went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Donaghmore's zone, Glen McWilliam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hayes McLiam came out of the goal and Glen McWilliam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Breslin McPhilip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bannon Ryan having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breslin McPhilip in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bannon Ryan saved Cloon from getting behind. Earnán McBjarton kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Bannon Ryan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baolach Frankson in the 92nd minute of play. Bannon Ryan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baolach Frankson in the 94th minute of the match. In the 98th match minute, Donaghmore was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert McBjarton to maneuver through the defense. Hayes McLiam was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Braydon Gollogley. Donaghmore's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
