Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gortnakilly's Bola Jameson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Breccan Sheridan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 11 minutes, Finbar McJohn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballinteskin and the Gortnakilly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Finbar McJohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 15 minutes, Kevinn McIan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gortnakilly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevinn McIan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geoffrey Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patty McLaughlin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Finbar McJohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gortnakilly's Bola Jameson got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Gortnakilly's Kain Crowe got a free kick in the 28th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Kain Crowe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gortnakilly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballinteskin the free kick. When Breccan Sheridan came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ballinteskin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breccan Sheridan couldn't finish the play. Breccan Sheridan might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennis Callaghan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breccan Sheridan ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Dennis Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breccan Sheridan in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 67th minute Lewis McPaul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farrell Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Lewis McPaul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Callaghan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Logan Kirby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennis Callaghan having to make a save. Dennis Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Logan Kirby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Logan Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Breccan Sheridan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballinteskin's supporters rose to their feet, but Breccan Sheridan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Callaghan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geoffrey Doyle took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Farrell Hunt. Farrell Hunt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Ballinteskin's Logan Kirby in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortnakilly's goalie prevented a goal. 93 minutes into the match, Ballinteskin's Breccan Sheridan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dennis Callaghan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kain Crowe kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Gortnakilly players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
