Farrell Hunt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Logan Kirby kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gearard McJohnny. That made the score 1-1 in the 8 minute of play. After 12 minutes, Raonall McPhil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballinteskin and the Clooncogaile players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raonall McPhil hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Finbar McJohn kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Farrell Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breaghdha McFrank in the 17th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Boynton Deans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clooncogaile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballinteskin the free kick. Boynton Deans hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Gearard McJohnny was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Breccan Sheridan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 26 minute of play. A collision led to Ballinteskin getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Finbar McJohn hit a great ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Boynton Deans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clooncogaile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boynton Deans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th match minute, Ballinteskin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raonall McPhil to maneuver through the defense. Clooncogaile's Arthur McAlphie got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute Arthur McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farrell Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ballinteskin's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Breaghdha McFrank was slow to take the kick. During this time Clooncogaile's players had a chance to rest. Breccan Sheridan hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Logan Kirby stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Clooncogaile got a freekick which was hit by Blanche Ghee. Logan Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearard McJohnny having to interfere. Boynton Deans hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Breccan Sheridan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ballinteskin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breccan Sheridan couldn't finish the play. Farrell Hunt was a little too slow when Donavon McJames got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 2-2. Ballinteskin were furious when Finbar McJohn was red carded, 67 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Ballinteskin:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Clooncogaile:s goal. When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, Clooncogaile's Breaghdha McFrank got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Farrell Hunt. Breslin McBjarton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearard McJohnny having to interfere. Ballinteskin's Farrell Hunt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donavon McJames in the 76th minute of play. Ros McLaughlin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Farrell Hunt made a huge save. If Logan Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clooncogaile's zone, Logan Kirby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearard McJohnny came out of the goal and Logan Kirby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 played minutes Ballinteskin got a freekick which was hit by Bhrighde Sheridan. The long shot by Breaghdha McFrank in the 90th minute really tested Farrell Hunt's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hayes McDonald got free with Farrell Hunt in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donavon McJames in the 97th minute of play forced Ballinteskin's goalkeeper Farrell Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Clooncogaile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
