In the 8th match minute, Gortnakilly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevinn McIan to maneuver through the defense. Brite McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. Cahir McFrank made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geoffrey Doyle in the 14th minute. If Bola Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. Dennis Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brite McBrand in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Barran Gillmour was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Querrin Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gortnakilly the free kick. After a rather tough play, Querrin Utd's Barran Gillmour got a free kick in the 26th minute. If Geoffrey Doyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bola Jameson in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cahir McFrank prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brite McBrand in the 32nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kennedy Tracy during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes Querrin Utd got a freekick which was hit by Kennedy Tracy. In the 36th minute, Geoffrey Doyle fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Cahir McFrank. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Gortnakilly's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. In the 38th minute, Geoffrey Doyle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brite McBrand might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennis Callaghan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brite McBrand ran back to his position shaking his head. Barran Gillmour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

52 minutes into the match, Querrin Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Bola Jameson came free, but Cahir McFrank reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Geoffrey Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barran Gillmour's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Dennis Callaghan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Barran Gillmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. Dennis Callaghan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barran Gillmour in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute Brite McBrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Callaghan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barran Gillmour could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dennis Callaghan made a huge save. Barran Gillmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. Gortnakilly's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Brite McBrand 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. Dennis Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brite McBrand in the 84th minute of play. If Brite McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94thth minute of the game Brite McBrand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Gortnakilly supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Querrin Utd's performance. The match ended with a win for Querrin Utd.
