With a couple of smart ball manuevers Burke McBjarton in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daron McMichel saved Finnahy from getting behind. Blathma Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Burke McBjarton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Paudraig McLaughlin fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Finnahy's protests and gave Paudraig McLaughlin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Carrowcastle booed when Finnahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paudraig McLaughlin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bodibeve Cronin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paudraig McLaughlin in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Burke Caffey recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bodibeve Cronin. Burke Caffey showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 20 played minutes Finnahy got a freekick which was hit by Paudraig McLaughlin. When Reilley Gollogley fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrowcastle's protests and gave Reilley Gollogley a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Reilley Gollogley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Burke McBjarton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daron McMichel was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Burke McBjarton in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daron McMichel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Burke McBjarton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Finnahy's Bodibeve Cronin threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Burke Caffey, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Burke McBjarton came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Carrowcastle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Burke McBjarton couldn't finish the play. Blathma Molloy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Daron McMichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burke McBjarton struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Daron McMichel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrowcastle. Finnahy's Daron McMichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donahue Colwell in the 42nd minute of play. Bodibeve Cronin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hayes McAaron, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Philib McPaul got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Burke McBjarton kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Burke Caffey made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Carrowcastle getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Cashel Prunty hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Hayes McAaron made a precise shot to the right of Bodibeve Cronin. Carrowcastle's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With a little luck, Finnahy's Daron McMichel got control of the ball when Donahue Colwell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Finnahy's Daron McMichel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Finnahy from getting a goal against them. Hayes McAaron took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bodibeve Cronin. Bodibeve Cronin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Bodibeve Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Burke Caffey in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of Carrowcastle booed when Finnahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorcan McSteven didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Philib McPaul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carrowcastle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Finnahy the free kick. A collision led to Carrowcastle getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Philib McPaul hit a great ball. Finnahy's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
