Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bola Jameson took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Finnahy's zone, Geoffrey Doyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daron McMichel came out of the goal and Geoffrey Doyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lorcan McStevens short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Dennis Callaghan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Finnahy's Lorcan McSteven got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Burke Caffey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. Lorcan McSteven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geoffrey Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 27th minute Bola Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daron McMichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Geoffrey Doyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Burke Caffey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dennis Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Burke Caffey in the 34th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lorcan McSteven got free with Dennis Callaghan in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lorcan McSteven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. Dennis Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burke Caffey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorcan McSteven struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Dennis Callaghan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Finnahy. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Burke Caffey made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gortnakilly's Glenn Sheridan got a free kick in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorcan McSteven in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Callaghan saved Gortnakilly from getting behind. In the 76thth minute of the game Lorcan McSteven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Finnahy's Daron McMichel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Finnahy from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the game, Geoffrey Doyle recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Daron McMichel. Geoffrey Doyle showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Bola Jameson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daron McMichel came out and tried to block the shot, but Bola Jameson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 82nd minute. Dennis Callaghan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burke Caffey, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The attack was good, but when Lorcan McSteven in the 93rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burke Caffey in the 95th minute of play forced Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th match minute, Finnahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorcan McSteven to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
