Spectators: 6787 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1787, VIP seats: 0) 8 minutes into the match, Clonbulloge's goal looked a bit too open when Bola Jameson came free, but Brenainn McStephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dennis Callaghan came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Clonbulloge's Glen Costello. But to his dismay, Glen Costello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bren Johnson in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dennis Callaghan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bren Johnson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gortnakilly's Kevinn McIan got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Bren Johnson came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Clonbulloge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bren Johnson couldn't finish the play. Lewis McPaul kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Bren Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Clonbulloge's Glen Costello in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortnakilly's goalie prevented a goal. If Glen Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes Gortnakilly got a freekick which was hit by Kevinn McIan. In the 37thth minute of the game Bren Johnson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Bren Johnson put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dennis Callaghan. Dennis Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bren Johnson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geoffrey Doyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Brenainn McStephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After a defensive mix-up in Gortnakilly's zone, Bren Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Callaghan came out of the goal and Bren Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 53 minutes, Dugan Savic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clonbulloge and the Gortnakilly players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bola Jameson in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brenainn McStephen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Costello in the 56th minute of play forced Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glen Costello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Bola Jameson notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Clonbulloge's Brenainn McStephen. Brenainn McStephen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74th minute, Gortnakilly's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Glen Costello fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Costello in the 82nd minute of play. Bren Johnson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Costello in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bola Jameson in the 88th minute of play forced Clonbulloge's goalkeeper Brenainn McStephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Clonbulloge supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Clonbulloge would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
