Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Burke McBjarton got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Clooncogaile's zone, Burke McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearard McJohnny came out of the goal and Burke McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, Carrowcastle's goalkeeper Bodibeve Cronin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur McAlphie. Bodibeve Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boynton Deans in the 17th minute of play. Hayes McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bodibeve Cronin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clooncogaile's Boynton Deans got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philib McPaul took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gearard McJohnny. Clooncogaile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Burke McBjarton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gearard McJohnny was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Carrowcastle's Belock Lester got a free kick in the 36th minute. When Belock Lester fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrowcastle's protests and gave Belock Lester a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Belock Lester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arthur McAlphie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Bodibeve Cronin made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donavon McJames stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clooncogaile's Gearard McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Burke McBjarton in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Clooncogaile defense, Blathma Molloy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gearard McJohnny. The Clooncogaile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gearard McJohnny should have stopped the shot. Bodibeve Cronin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur McAlphie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boynton Deans in the 63rd minute of play forced Carrowcastle's goalkeeper Bodibeve Cronin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blathma Molloy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearard McJohnny having to interfere. Gearard McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burke McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Carrowcastle's goal looked a bit too open when Ros McLaughlin came free, but Bodibeve Cronin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Arthur McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bodibeve Cronin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Carrowcastle's Donahue Colwell dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur McAlphie in the 77th minute of play forced Carrowcastle's goalkeeper Bodibeve Cronin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bodibeve Cronin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boynton Deans in the 80th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Carrowcastle got a freekick which was hit by Bodibeua McWilliam. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Carrowcastle eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
