Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bola Jameson kicked off to start the match. Bodibeve Cronin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lewis McPaul in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Carrowcastle's Donahue Colwell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dennis Callaghan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dennis Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blathma Molloy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Carrowcastle's Burke McBjarton in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortnakilly's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Burke McBjarton in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dennis Callaghan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cashel Prunty took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dennis Callaghan. Gortnakilly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Burke McBjarton sped through Gortnakilly's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dennis Callaghan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donahue Colwell in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dennis Callaghan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, Gortnakilly's goal looked a bit too open when Burke McBjarton came free, but Dennis Callaghan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Donahue Colwell came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Carrowcastle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donahue Colwell couldn't finish the play. After 23 minutes, Burke McBjarton made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Blathma Molloy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Reilley Gollogley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carrowcastle and the Gortnakilly players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burke McBjarton in the 37th minute of play forced Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Philib McPaul fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrowcastle's protests and gave Philib McPaul a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Carrowcastle's Philib McPaul got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute, Burke McBjarton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Burke McBjarton in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Callaghan saved Gortnakilly from getting behind. Bodibeua McWilliam took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dennis Callaghan. Gortnakilly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Gortnakilly players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carrowcastle were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Burke McBjarton to strike the kick off in the second half. Bodibeve Cronin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bola Jameson went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Burke McBjarton in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dennis Callaghan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 62nd minute, Blathma Molloy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dennis Callaghan. The goal made the score 1-3. 71 minutes into the game, Gortnakilly's Lewis McPaul nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bodibeve Cronin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Gortnakilly's zone, Donahue Colwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Callaghan came out of the goal and Donahue Colwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Burke McBjarton got free with Dennis Callaghan in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bodibeve Cronin came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Gortnakilly's Bola Jameson. But to his dismay, Bola Jameson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Bodibeve Cronin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevinn McIan in the 80th minute of the match. If Philib McPaul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Burke McBjarton. A collision led to Gortnakilly getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Tipper McDonald hit a great ball. In the 91st match minute, Carrowcastle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reilley Gollogley to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 93 in the game by Burke McBjarton from a close distance when the talented Dennis Callaghan managed to make a qualified save. Gortnakilly's players were relieved. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Carrowcastle players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
