In a very dangerous position, a player in Ballinaboy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! In the 20th minute, Ballyfarnan AFC got a penalty, and Scothine Mulvihill placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. 23 minutes into the match, Ballyfarnan AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Keelin John came free, but Tirloch Hamilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bray Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Ballinaboy's goal looked a bit too open when Dugan Moran came free, but Damian Silke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Keelin John made a kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Dugan Moran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyfarnan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dugan Moran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ballinaboy booed when Ballyfarnan AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beothach Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tirloch Hamilton made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Jeremiah Brennan sent off a good shot on target. 63 minutes into the game, Ballyfarnan AFC's Dugan Moran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Silke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keelin John in the 68th minute of play forced Ballyfarnan AFC's goalkeeper Tirloch Hamilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Silke didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ballyfarnan AFC's Bray Myler shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a rather tough play, Ballinaboy's Cullan Lavine got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 81st minute Bray Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Silke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ballyfarnan AFC's Dugan Moran got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ballinaboy's zone, Bray Myler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Silke came out of the goal and Bray Myler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Blathmac McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Ballyfarnan AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
