Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dugan Moran got the match started through his kick off. Tirloch Hamilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breenan McVictor, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Dawayne McTommy came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballyfarnan AFC's Bray Myler. But to his dismay, Bray Myler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Rowley McWills short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Tirloch Hamilton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dugan Moran in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dawayne McTommy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes into the game, Dillon Scully was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sligo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyfarnan AFC the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Sligo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dillon Scully to maneuver through the defense. Tirloch Hamilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breenan McVictor in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Ballyfarnan AFC booed when Sligo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bram Caffrey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scothine Mulvihill took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dawayne McTommy. Sligo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bray Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bray Myler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dugan Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rowley McWill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ballyfarnan AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dawayne McTommy was a little too slow when Dugan Moran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-2. When Lewis Harkin fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sligo's protests and gave Lewis Harkin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th match minute, Sligo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Harkin to maneuver through the defense. If Bray Myler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dugan Moran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dawayne McTommy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Rowley McWill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tirloch Hamilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Bray Myler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 74 minutes, Bray Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyfarnan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bray Myler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Sligo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bram Caffrey to maneuver through the defense. Dawayne McTommy made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Bray Myler sent off a good shot on target. Bray Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dawayne McTommy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dugan Moran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Bray Myler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dawayne McTommy was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Healy Benson in the 96th minute of play forced Ballyfarnan AFC's goalkeeper Tirloch Hamilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ballyfarnan AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
