When Lou Gallagher fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cashlan's protests and gave Lou Gallagher a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, one of Cashlan:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cashlan. The supporters of Cashlan booed when Stroove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cathal McCready didn't get a good kick on the ball. Troy Ghee kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Rowley McJames who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Breadan McBjarton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Troy Ghee helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes Stroove got a freekick which was hit by Troy Ghee. Booak Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berchan Murphy having to interfere. If Gearalt Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cashlan getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Rowe Jameson hit a great ball. Stroove's Breadan McBjarton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boylan McBjarton in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Stroove's zone, Rowley McJames stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breadan McBjarton came out of the goal and Rowley McJames tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Finnigan Callaghan hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
