Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute Baine McAaron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berchan Murphy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Corraneary defense, Rowley McJames kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Braeden McFrancise. The Corraneary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Braeden McFrancise should have stopped the shot. Berchan Murphy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baine McAaron in the 15th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cashlan's Rowe Jameson got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes, Baine McAaron made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cashlan's Berchan Murphy tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rowley McJames fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braeden McFrancise having to interfere. Baine McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blar Hughes during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, Blar Hughes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berchan Murphy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Walker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baine McAaron in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Berchan Murphy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baine McAaron struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Berchan Murphy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corraneary. Braeden McFrancise came out of the goal and Boylan McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berchan Murphy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baine McAaron in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baine McAaron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. During the 53rd minute of the match Rowe Jameson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rowe Jameson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 54th match minute, Cashlan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rowe Jameson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baine McAaron got free with Berchan Murphy in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boylan McBjarton's late challenge caught a Corraneary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boylan McBjarton helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th match minute, Cashlan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boylan McBjarton to maneuver through the defense. A wasted opportunity for Cashlan. 89 minutes into the match, Cashlan's goalkeeper Berchan Murphy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baine McAaron. Baine McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baine McAaron took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Berchan Murphy. Berchan Murphy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corraneary walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
