Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Beara Moran made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5thth minute of the game Dawayne Byrne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oughterard's Pierson Brennan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 6th minute, Beara Moran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Dawayne Byrne notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Oughterard's Pierson Brennan . Pierson Brennan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 15 minutes of play, Derrymullan's Beara Moran made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pierson Brennan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pierson Brennan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dawayne Byrne in the 18th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egan O'Brien got free with Herich McNamara in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute Beara Moran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierson Brennan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Barrie Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pierson Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dawayne Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Oughterard's zone, Dawayne Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierson Brennan came out of the goal and Dawayne Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dawayne Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Pierson Brennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Royan McBjarton to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Oughterard's zone, Beara Moran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierson Brennan came out of the goal and Beara Moran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Royan McBjarton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herich McNamara was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Derrymullan's Becc McLian got a free kick in the 60th minute. Royan McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Herich McNamara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beara Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geoffrey McDecland during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Derrymullan booed when Oughterard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoffrey McDecland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beara Moran in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierson Brennan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tevis McFrancise's late challenge caught a Derrymullan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tevis McFrancise helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Oughterard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tevis McFrancise to maneuver through the defense. Beara Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derrymullan's Beara Moran was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 86th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Oughterard's Royan McBjarton got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beara Moran got in the 93rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Pierson Brennan handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Royan McBjarton charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Royan McBjarton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Oughterard getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Royan McBjarton hit a great ball. Derrymullan played a much better game than Oughterard and deserved their victory. The Oughterard players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
