Cashlan's Berchan Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dawayne Byrne in the 13th minute of play. Herich McNamara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Boylan McBjarton went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Cashlan's Rowley McJames got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Cashlan's Boylan McBjarton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Herich McNamara. Herich McNamara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beara Moran in the 24th minute of play forced Cashlan's goalkeeper Berchan Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Berchan Murphy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dawayne Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dawayne Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Berchan Murphy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Derrymullan booed when Cashlan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blar Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee showed Ryleigh Horgan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cashlan getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dawayne Byrne got free with Berchan Murphy in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Beara Moran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Dawayne Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derrymullan's supporters rose to their feet, but Dawayne Byrne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Berchan Murphy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rowley McJames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 played minutes Cashlan got a freekick which was hit by Blar Hughes. Beara Moran was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Derrymullan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Derrymullan's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Cashlan had won, even though Derrymullan had held more of the ball.
