Richardstown Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrigart FC the free kick. Bardon Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Begg McPhilip having to interfere. Begg McPhilip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah McLian in the 42nd minute of play. The Richardstown Utd players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carrigart FC were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bailey Duggan made a kick off. Brenden Cronin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ailín McJohnny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th match minute, Carrigart FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Byrne to maneuver through the defense. Tathan McIan was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Jeremiah McLian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrigart FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremiah McLian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Begg McPhilip breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute Bardon Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Begg McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Carrigart FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
