A hard shot by Conn Cooney from long distance, 9 minutes into the match, got Banan Deans's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Caoilte Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerald Colwell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Banan Deans came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerald Colwell slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 18th minute. Bedilia Kelly took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rorke Scully. Rorke Scully dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Caoilte Tracy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Banan Deans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Banan Deans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerald Colwell's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maryfield's goalkeeper Banan Deans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Banan Deans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caoilte Tracy in the 34th minute. Gerald Colwell spun around in front of the goal 35 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Maryfield's goal. 44 minutes into the match, Maryfield's goal looked a bit too open when Gerald Colwell came free, but Banan Deans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caoilte Tracy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Sheridan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Rorke Scully managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Maryfield's Bedilia Kelly fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joshua Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rorke Scully tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conn Cooney's late challenge caught a Maryfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conn Cooney helped the player get up and apologised. Joshua Sheridan struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Rorke Scully didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maryfield. The crowd rose to their feet as Maryfield's Joshua Sheridan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rorke Scully. That made the score 4-2 after 59 minutes of play. Banan Deans came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Drumbilla's Caoilte Tracy. But to his dismay, Caoilte Tracy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Rorke Scully showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Sheridan in the 70th minute of the match. Braedon Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bedilia Kelly succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-3 in the 82nd playminute. A hard shot 86 in the game by Bedilia Kelly from a close distance when the talented Rorke Scully managed to make a qualified save. Drumbilla's players were relieved. Gerald Colwell struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Banan Deans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drumbilla. In a very dangerous position, a player in Drumbilla fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Rorke Scully, was totally fooled by Maryfield's Healy McPeter, who 98 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
