Bodibeua Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bearach O'Keefe in the 11th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Battiemount got a freekick which was hit by Lochlainn Gallagher. In the 21st minute Bearach O'Keefe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bodibeua Callaghan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bearach O'Keefe in the 27th minute of play forced Battiemount's goalkeeper Bodibeua Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Pearse McJames managed to get in a good position for a shot. Battiemount's supporters rose to their feet, but Pearse McJames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kyle Colwell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Strand getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Roland Dempsey hit a great ball. Glen Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After the first half Strand were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boyne Coyle to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Battiemount was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cullan McPhilip to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes George Doyle rounded Battiemount's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. When Boyne Coyle came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Battiemount fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyne Coyle couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Boyne Coyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bodibeua Callaghan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but George Doyle showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 75 minute of play. When Beairtle McAlphie fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strand's protests and gave Beairtle McAlphie a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes Strand got a freekick which was hit by Beairtle McAlphie. Críostóir McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Kyle Colwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glen Hamilton during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Glen Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If George Doyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Strand players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
