To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Drumbilla's Caoilte Tracy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fionntán McAlphie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Gerald Colwell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fionntán McAlphie was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 45th minute, Gerald Colwell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Suibhne McCollion managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legland's supporters rose to their feet, but Suibhne McCollion was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rorke Scully breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerald Colwell to make the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Herygh McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Donn McJames sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Drumbilla's Rorke Scully didn't even have to move. In the 67th minute Caoilte Tracy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fionntán McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Legland's Keelin Brennan got a free kick in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Gerald Colwell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drumbilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerald Colwell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fionntán McAlphie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, Drumbilla's goal looked a bit too open when Keelin Brennan came free, but Rorke Scully reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Drumbilla's Rorke Scully played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suibhne McCollion in the 89th minute of play. Drumbilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerald Colwell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rorke Scully was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Suibhne McCollion showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 95 minute of play.
