Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Shannagh Utd's zone, Babe McWillie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bracken Brennan came out of the goal and Babe McWillie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Hewney Brennan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnaderg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hewney Brennan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Brant Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shannagh Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Brant Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pawd Savic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hewney Brennan took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bracken Brennan . Bracken Brennan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Barnaderg's zone, Baoithin Prunty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pawd Savic came out of the goal and Baoithin Prunty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Brant Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pawd Savic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, Shannagh Utd's Brant Silke made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pawd Savic was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hewney Brennan in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bracken Brennan , who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hewney Brennan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Bracken Brennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Brant Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pawd Savic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Baoithin Prunty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Babe McWillie scored 2-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bracken Brennan , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Brant Silke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shannagh Utd's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Babe McWillie scored to the left of an out of position Bracken Brennan , making the score, 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Babe McWillie was the one to do the kick off. Brefni Hughes hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Bray Gollogley, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 58 played minutes Shannagh Utd got a freekick which was hit by Harry Hunt. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Babe McWillie in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bracken Brennan saved Shannagh Utd from getting behind. If Babe McWillie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Babe McWillie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Babe McWillie in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bracken Brennan saved Shannagh Utd from getting behind. 71 minutes into the match, Shannagh Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Babe McWillie came free, but Bracken Brennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Hewney Brennan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bracken Brennan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Babe McWillie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Shannagh Utd getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Brefni Hughes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Hewney Brennan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barnaderg's supporters rose to their feet, but Hewney Brennan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bracken Brennan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Barnaderg booed when Shannagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brefni Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bracken Brennan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Babe McWillie's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Hewney Brennan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bracken Brennan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hewney Brennan in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bracken Brennan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bracken Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babe McWillie, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When Brefni Hughes fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shannagh Utd's protests and gave Brefni Hughes a yellow card for diving instead. Brefni Hughes kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Babe McWillie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bracken Brennan . Shannagh Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Babe McWillie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Shannagh Utd's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
