After 3 minutes, Fiachra O'Down mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sessiagh Utd and the Canningstown FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sessiagh Utd getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Fiachra O'Down hit a great ball. After having played for 4 minutes, Brannen McDecland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canningstown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brannen McDecland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Sessiagh Utd defense, Jeremiah Kelly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ryley McDonald. The Sessiagh Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ryley McDonald should have stopped the shot. In the 10thth minute of the game Breannain McBrand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sessiagh Utd's Ryley McDonald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Canningstown FC's Conaill Scully got control of the ball when Boroimhe Brennan tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiachra O'Down in the 21st minute of play forced Canningstown FC's goalkeeper Conaill Scully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd play minute Boroimhe Brennan came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Conaill Scully. 1-1. Boroimhe Brennan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Conaill Scully made a huge save. In the 35th minute, Jeremiah Kelly made a precise shot to the right of Ryley McDonald. Sessiagh Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Berchan McTommy kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Ryley McDonald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berchan McTommy, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Canningstown FC's Berchan McTommy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ryley McDonald made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Ryley McDonald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breannain McBrand in the 66th minute of the match. Sessiagh Utd's Ryley McDonald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berchan McTommy in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of Sessiagh Utd booed when Canningstown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berchan McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball.
