In the 21st match minute, Canningstown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breffni Branson to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Brannen McDecland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artuir Dempsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biddy Costello in the 29th minute of play forced Canningstown FC's goalkeeper Conaill Scully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Gehan Glen Crowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 played minutes, Knockatee AFC's Blathmacc Robinson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Conaill Scully came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Knockatee AFC reached it. Knockatee AFC's Artuir Dempsey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Knockatee AFC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Brannen McDecland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canningstown FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brannen McDecland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artuir Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brannen McDecland. A collision led to Knockatee AFC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Biddy Costello hit a great ball. Artuir Dempsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremiah Kelly, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After 95 minutes of play, Knockatee AFC's Kevin Caffey made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conaill Scully was left in no man's land by his defense there! Despite being the better team, Canningstown FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
