The supporters of Kilfenora booed when Canningstown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breffni Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 3rd minute Séamus Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conaill Scully saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Quinton McWillie fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilfenora's protests and gave Quinton McWillie a yellow card for diving instead. Quinton McWillie kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th match minute, Kilfenora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quinton McWillie to maneuver through the defense. Colm Beckett made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Brannen McDecland sent off a good shot on target. Paudraig Kirby kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kilfenora's Dillon Brennan got a free kick in the 40th minute. Colm Doherty hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Colm Beckett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremiah Kelly, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Kilfenora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quinton McWillie to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Jeremiah Kelly made the kick off in the second half. Jeremiah Kelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Colm Beckett having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Quinton McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gearroid Willson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Canningstown FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kilfenora the free kick. After 64 played minutes Canningstown FC got a freekick which was hit by Breannain McBrand. Séamus Byrne's late challenge caught a Canningstown FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Séamus Byrne helped the player get up and apologised. Séamus Byrne kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. If Berchan McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Kilfenora's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremiah Kelly came free, but Colm Beckett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Canningstown FC's goalkeeper Conaill Scully had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Séamus Byrne. If Jeremiah Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. When the referee ended the match the Canningstown FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
