In the 29th minute Biddy Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendann McBrand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Biddy Costello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Brendann McBrand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peadar Dunne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Brendann McBrand made a huge save. If Biddy Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artuir Dempsey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roy Gough in the 56th minute. Brendann McBrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biddy Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Peadar Dunne succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the game, Egan Ferguson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballyline's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knockatee AFC the free kick. The supporters of Knockatee AFC booed when Ballyline was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egan Ferguson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Ros Cooney managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knockatee AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ros Cooney was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brendann McBrand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peadar Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendann McBrand having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Biddy Costello in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brendann McBrand saved Ballyline from getting behind. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballyline players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Knockatee AFC.
