Carrowntawy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sessiagh Utd the free kick. After 47 played minutes Carrowntawy got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Tracy. In the 47th minute of the match Harrington Mulvihill sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciarán Hutton skillfully saved the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Carrowntawy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Colm Hughes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ryley McDonald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bannan McSteve in the 89th minute of the match. Colm Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
