Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Knockatee AFC's Biddy Costello started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ryley McDonald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peadar Dunne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Sessiagh Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Biddy Costello came free, but Ryley McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Biddy Costello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryley McDonald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peadar Dunne, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Kevin Caffey kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiachra O'Down in the 24th minute of play forced Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Knockatee AFC booed when Sessiagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harrington Mulvihill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Biddy Costello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fiachra O'Down received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Artuir Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Kevin Caffey made a precise shot to the right of Ryley McDonald. Sessiagh Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Peadar Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peadar Dunne took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ryley McDonald. Ryley McDonald dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Kevin Caffey hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Boroimhe Brennan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artuir Dempsey having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biddy Costello in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ryley McDonald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Knockatee AFC's Artuir Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiachra O'Down in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Knockatee AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donleavy Benson to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Biddy Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knockatee AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Biddy Costello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ryley McDonald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Knockatee AFC booed when Sessiagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmet Sheridan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Pauric Dimson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artuir Dempsey skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boroimhe Brennan in the 81st minute of play forced Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match, Peadar Dunne got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ryley McDonald was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match was over Knockatee AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sessiagh Utd throughout the match.
