In the 12th minute of the match Teigue Myler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gordan McTom skillfully saved the ball. Belvelly were furious when Beiti Moran was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Belvelly fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Gordan McTom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Begley Myler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donncha Molloy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 minutes, Geary Palmer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belvelly and the Carrigdangan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th minute, Begley Myler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carrigdangan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Carrigdangan booed when Belvelly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roordan Mullan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Begley Myler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carrigdangan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belvelly the free kick. Gordan McTom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carrigdangan's Begley Myler got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Carrigdangan were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Begley Myler made a kick off. Bernard McPeter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin McFrancise in the 55th minute of the match. Gordan McTom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Begley Myler in the 59th minute of play. Begley Myler succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. In the 66th minute of the match Teigue Myler shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gordan McTom showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Begley Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordan McTom having to interfere. Austin McFrancise recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 minutes, Donncha Molloy made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Belvelly's Gordan McTom tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Carrigdangan getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Blair McCollion hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Begley Myler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gordan McTom was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Donncha Molloy succeeded in the game's 86th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-5. Gordan McTom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Begley Myler in the 89th minute of the match. Donncha Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Carrigdangan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Belvelly.
