In the 4th minute, Begley Myler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quinton Lavine was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Bernard McPeter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basil Moran, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blair McCollion in the 18th minute of play forced Courthoyle's goalkeeper Quinton Lavine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carrigdangan's Bernard McPeter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Carrigdangan from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basil Moran to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Courthoyle's Birr McDonald got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Birr McDonald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Courthoyle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrigdangan the free kick. Birr McDonald hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Carrigdangan's Begley Myler dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Quinton Lavine made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Blair McCollion sent off a good shot on target. After 65 played minutes Carrigdangan got a freekick which was hit by Kennedy Taylor. Donncha Molloy came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Quinton Lavine could save by the left post. In the 73rd minute, Carrigdangan's Blair McCollion dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Courthoyle's Quinton Lavine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Courthoyle from getting a goal against them. Blair McCollion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quinton Lavine having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Courthoyle's Birr McDonald got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Begley Myler struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Quinton Lavine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrigdangan. Courthoyle's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Donncha Molloy scored to the left of an out of position Quinton Lavine, making the score, 0-5.
