Bearnard McPeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cahir Benson having to interfere. Conor Mullan charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conor Mullan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rourke McGlynn hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. When Rourke McGlynn came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Cavan Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rourke McGlynn couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Moylough's zone, Bearnard McPeter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cahir Benson came out of the goal and Bearnard McPeter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st match minute, Cavan Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry McWillie to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bearnard McPeter in the 30th minute of play forced Moylough's goalkeeper Cahir Benson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cavan Utd's Rourke McGlynn in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Brendan Branson hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the game, Brendan Branson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brazil Hunt. Brendan Branson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darragh McOliver was the one to do the kick off. Brazil Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seán Colwell in the 51st minute of play. Seán Colwell scored 3-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brazil Hunt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cahir Benson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rourke McGlynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendan Branson in the 60th minute of play forced Cavan Utd's goalkeeper Brazil Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
