The audience was convinced that Lee Harkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Binne Gillmour was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Pat McFrank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donlan Gallagher having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Castlecarra Utd's Flann Ferguson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 30 played minutes Castlecarra Utd got a freekick which was hit by Conleth Robinson. When Gordan Scully came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Caherlevoy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordan Scully couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the game, Flann Ferguson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castlecarra Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caherlevoy the free kick. Pat McFrank might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donlan Gallagher. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pat McFrank ran back to his position shaking his head. Flann Ferguson hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Pat McFrank's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donlan Gallagher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Castlecarra Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Gordan Scully came free, but Donlan Gallagher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lee Harkin to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, one of Castlecarra Utd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Donlan Gallagher, was totally fooled by Caherlevoy's Artuir Matthews, who 56 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Pat McFrank got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 62nd minute, Gordan Scully fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Donlan Gallagher made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Pat McFrank sent off a good shot on target. When Gordan Scully came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Caherlevoy fans jumped to their feet. After 68 minutes Castlecarra Utd's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Artuir Matthews who took care of the corner kick. Terence McBrandon's late challenge caught a Castlecarra Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terence McBrandon helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herich Harkin in the 77th minute of play forced Caherlevoy's goalkeeper Binne Gillmour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Caherlevoy's Terence McBrandon got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 83 played minutes Caherlevoy got a freekick which was hit by Basil McJames. Beale MaCollin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Binne Gillmour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordan Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donlan Gallagher having to interfere. Pat McFrank who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Donlan Gallagher when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Caherlevoy's zone, Lee Harkin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Binne Gillmour came out of the goal and Lee Harkin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
