After 4 played minutes Kilmacteige Utd got a freekick which was hit by Blaithmeic Savic. Críostóir Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Lorcan McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bret Mulvihill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute Críostóir Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorcan McNamee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 19 minutes, Bret Mulvihill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilmacteige Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bret Mulvihill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Kilmacteige Utd booed when Grogagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lewis Dempsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lorcan McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bret Mulvihill in the 22nd minute of play. Breaghdha Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shamus Quinnless having to interfere. When Barney Beckett came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Grogagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Beckett couldn't finish the play. Breaghdha Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Barney Beckett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shamus Quinnless made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barney Beckett in the 40th minute. The supporters of Grogagh booed when Kilmacteige Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blaithmeic Savic didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bret Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Shamus Quinnless showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breaghdha Gallagher in the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to Kilmacteige Utd getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Bradain Myler hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Barney Beckett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shamus Quinnless. Kilmacteige Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barney Beckett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Kilmacteige Utd's Bret Mulvihill got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grogagh's goalkeeper Lorcan McNamee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Grogagh's Braedon Ryan got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Braedon Ryan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Kilmacteige Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Barney Beckett came free, but Shamus Quinnless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Kilmacteige Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradain Myler to maneuver through the defense. Barney Beckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shamus Quinnless having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Grogagh's Barney Beckett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shamus Quinnless narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Kilmacteige Utd's Bradain Myler got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 88th minute, Bret Mulvihill made a precise shot to the right of Lorcan McNamee. Grogagh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Grogagh's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
