Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Castlecarra Utd's Lee Harkin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Lou Jameson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Donlan Gallagher. The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, Clonona's Kevin McBjarton got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Lee Harkin came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Castlecarra Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lee Harkin couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the match, Clonona's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Harkin came free, but Brann McPaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darren Bayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Clonona getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Baird McPhilip hit a great ball. Brann McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beale MaCollin in the 16th minute of play. If Lou Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Clonona defense, Lee Harkin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brann McPaul. The Clonona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brann McPaul should have stopped the shot. After 29 played minutes Clonona got a freekick which was hit by Bran Lavine. Brann McPaul came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Castlecarra Utd's Lee Harkin. But to his dismay, Lee Harkin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 36th minute, Darren Bayes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Darren Bayes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donlan Gallagher. Castlecarra Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Bayes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Darren Bayes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clonona's supporters rose to their feet, but Darren Bayes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donlan Gallagher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Brann McPaul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beale MaCollin went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Ultan Taylor's late challenge caught a Clonona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ultan Taylor helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Castlecarra Utd got a freekick which was hit by Ultan Taylor. The audience held their breath when Baird McPhilip in the 58th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Donlan Gallagher's left hand side. Donlan Gallagher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lou Jameson, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Brann McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Harkin in the 68th minute of play. Darren Bayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donlan Gallagher having to interfere. Lou Jameson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Donlan Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Clonona booed when Castlecarra Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conleth Robinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Clonona's Darren Bayes, in the 80th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Clonona. After a defensive mix-up in Castlecarra Utd's zone, Lou Jameson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donlan Gallagher came out of the goal and Lou Jameson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clonona's Darren Bayes got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Darren Bayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donlan Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lou Jameson in the 90th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Clonona failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
