The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lorcan McNamee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rowe Ryan in the 8th minute of the match. Harold McMichel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Lorcan McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Grogagh's zone, Rowe Ryan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lorcan McNamee came out of the goal and Rowe Ryan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Grogagh's Barney Beckett in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 28 minutes of play Aghacurreen Utd's Beckett Taylor was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Harold McMichel made the kick off in the second half. Lorcan McNamee came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Aghacurreen Utd's Harold McMichel. In the 56thth minute of the game Barney Beckett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aghacurreen Utd's Brendan Caffey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 56th minute, Douglas Caffey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Breaghdha Gallagher ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brendan Caffey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Breaghdha Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendan Caffey having to interfere. Harold McMichel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorcan McNamee having to interfere. Aghacurreen Utd's Brendan Caffey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Beckett in the 68th minute of play. Harold McMichel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Lorcan McNamee made a huge save. Barney Beckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendan Caffey having to interfere. Barney Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
