Brannon Grant kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Clonona's zone, Bradain Myler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brann McPaul came out of the goal and Bradain Myler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kevin McBjarton hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Bret Mulvihill's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Brann McPaul skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 20 minutes into the game, Clonona's Lou Jameson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shamus Quinnless made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 29th minute of the match Bran Lavine sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shamus Quinnless skillfully saved the ball. Shamus Quinnless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lou Jameson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Críostóir Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilmacteige Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Críostóir Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brann McPaul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Kilmacteige Utd booed when Clonona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berke Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Brann McPaul managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Kilmacteige Utd's Bret Mulvihill fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 45th match minute, Clonona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berke Jameson to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Kilmacteige Utd's Bret Mulvihill ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brann McPaul. Brann McPaul yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lou Jameson to make the kick off. Kilmacteige Utd's Shamus Quinnless proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Kilmacteige Utd from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, Kilmacteige Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Lou Jameson came free, but Shamus Quinnless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bret Mulvihill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Brann McPaul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shamus Quinnless made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Bayes in the 63rd minute. Brann McPaul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bret Mulvihill in the 65th minute of the match. Bret Mulvihill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Brann McPaul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bret Mulvihill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brann McPaul read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Clonona:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kilmacteige Utd:s goal. Clonona:s Brann McPaul showed great skill when he stopped Harrington McBrandon:s penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lou Jameson in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shamus Quinnless prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 96th minute, Terry Beckett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
