In the 13th minute, Blaithmeic Savic got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Bradain Myler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 27th minute of the match Russ Moran completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Russ Moran a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Narraghmore AFC's Russ Moran got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Harrington McBrandon sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Narraghmore AFC's Keely Palmer didn't even have to move. Bret Mulvihill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 played minutes Narraghmore AFC got a freekick which was hit by Brenda Molloy. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Críostóir Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilmacteige Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Críostóir Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keely Palmer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th play minute Bret Mulvihill came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Keely Palmer. 1-0. Bret Mulvihill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Keely Palmer made a huge save. In the 42nd minute of the match, Bret Mulvihill got a very nice opportunity to score, but Keely Palmer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bret Mulvihill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Keely Palmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Irwin McOliver stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Keely Palmer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bret Mulvihill, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 55 minutes, Phillip Murphy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Narraghmore AFC and the Kilmacteige Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. Keely Palmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bret Mulvihill in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Narraghmore AFC's goalkeeper Keely Palmer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Phillip Murphy hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Brenda Molloy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Narraghmore AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Críostóir Silke came free, but Keely Palmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keely Palmer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Críostóir Silke's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. When Críostóir Silke came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Kilmacteige Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Críostóir Silke couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Teigue McNamara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Narraghmore AFC's Darby McGlenn broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Irwin McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Shamus Quinnless tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Bret Mulvihill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilmacteige Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bret Mulvihill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
