Boudibiua McJohnny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flann Ferguson in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, one of Castlecarra Utd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Ballyroan FC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Boyce Ferguson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Castlecarra Utd's Donlan Gallagher. 0-1. Boyce Ferguson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boudibiua McJohnny was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Lee Harkin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lee Harkin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 18th minute, Lee Harkin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boyce Ferguson in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donlan Gallagher saved Castlecarra Utd from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Castlecarra Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Boyce Ferguson came free, but Donlan Gallagher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Boyce Ferguson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 played minutes Castlecarra Utd got a freekick which was hit by Brannagh Deans. In the 33rd minute, Boyce Ferguson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 played minutes Castlecarra Utd got a freekick which was hit by Brannagh Deans. Donlan Gallagher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boyce Ferguson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ballyroan FC booed when Castlecarra Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brannagh Deans didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lee Harkin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Castlecarra Utd's goalkeeper Donlan Gallagher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Keelin McPaul blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donlan Gallagher having to make a save. After having played for 67 minutes, Boyce Ferguson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyroan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boyce Ferguson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boyce Ferguson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Donlan Gallagher came out and tried to block the shot, but Boyce Ferguson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 70th minute. In the 79th minute, Brannagh Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Boyce Ferguson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ballyroan FC played a much better game than Castlecarra Utd and deserved their victory. The Castlecarra Utd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
