The referee ignored FC Sabinow Power's protests and gave Piers Prunty a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tallaght United booed when FC Sabinow Power was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piers Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caimin McCready walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 41st minute, Cassidy Hunt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samueil McPhilip was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After the first half Tallaght United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassidy Hunt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Tallaght United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sameer Robinson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Brennan in the 53rd minute of play forced Tallaght United's goalkeeper Louis Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gill Holt hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Cassidy Hunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee gave Piers Prunty a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 74 minutes into the match, Tallaght United's Caimin McCready broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Samueil McPhilip showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassidy Hunt in the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Tallaght United's Cassidy Hunt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samueil McPhilip narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Torran McAlphie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 82 minutes of play, Tallaght United's Cassidy Hunt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samueil McPhilip was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boynton Harkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Sabinow Power supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tallaght United's performance. The match ended with a win for Tallaght United.
