The supporters of Ballyclider booed when Greenhall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aban Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buach Deans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Salmon McIan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Buach Deans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salmon McIan. Greenhall FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Buach Deans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Randal McIan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Suibhne Myler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Salmon McIan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breanainn Kirby went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Greenhall FC's Aban Matthews got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes of play, Ballyclider's Reagan Barrett made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Salmon McIan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Salmon McIan came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ballyclider's Cianán Cassin. But to his dismay, Cianán Cassin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Cianán Cassin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyclider's supporters rose to their feet, but Cianán Cassin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salmon McIan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes into the match, Greenhall FC's goal looked a bit too open when Breanainn Kirby came free, but Salmon McIan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 37 minutes, Benedict Cassin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Greenhall FC and the Ballyclider players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Greenhall FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Benedict Cassin hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the game, Ballyclider's Breanainn Kirby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Salmon McIan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boddibevve McWill to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reagan Barrett got free with Salmon McIan in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Aban Matthews fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Greenhall FC's protests and gave Aban Matthews a yellow card for diving instead. Aban Matthews hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Ballyclider's Buach Deans dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Reagan Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salmon McIan having to interfere. Reagan Barrett succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 79th playminute. Cianán Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Greenhall FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ballyclider were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
