Beineon Duggan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavin Mulvihill in the 19th minute of the match. After 21 played minutes, Tops's Ultan McMichel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Beineon Duggan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tops reached it. 31 minutes into the match, Tops's goal looked a bit too open when Antaine Branson came free, but Darby Beckett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gavin Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brenna McWillie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Darby Beckett made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Darby Beckett successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Earlstown booed when Tops was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tierney Dalton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tops's Darby Beckett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antaine Branson in the 41st minute of play. Tops's Tierney Dalton got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Tierney Dalton off the ground. Earlstown's Britt Walker couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tops. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antaine Branson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antaine Branson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darby Beckett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Earlstown defense, Gavin Mulvihill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beineon Duggan. The Earlstown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beineon Duggan should have stopped the shot. In the 64th minute, Beag McOliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Earlstown's Beineon Duggan got control of the ball when Gavin Mulvihill tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antaine Branson struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Darby Beckett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Earlstown. After a rather tough play, Earlstown's Brenna McWillie got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Brenna McWillie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Earlstown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brenna McWillie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Antaine Branson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Darby Beckett. Tops's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antaine Branson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Darby Beckett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brenna McWillie in the 86th minute of play. Antaine Branson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darby Beckett having to make a save.
