The supporters of East Coast Fc booed when Sligeach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold McBrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kennedy Dunne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Patrick Coyle made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 50th match minute, East Coast Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Branagain Gough to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, East Coast Fc's Lochlainn McVictor got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Breandan McPeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Patrick Coyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Coyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Breandan McPeter's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Declan McGlenn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Coyle skillfully saved the ball. East Coast Fc's Patrick Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breandan McPeter in the 72nd minute of play. Patrick Coyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kennedy Dunne in the 76th minute of the match. Antaine McJames took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Patrick Coyle. East Coast Fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to East Coast Fc getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Eoin Savic hit a great ball. Patrick Coyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breandan McPeter in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Bourns Horgan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Coast Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bourns Horgan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sligeach had won after a very even match.
