Berrigan Sheridan came out of the goal and Casey Hunt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th match minute, Neves FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brennen Colwell to maneuver through the defense. Davie McAaron was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Harold McBrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Rathose booed when Neves FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brennen Colwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rowland Deans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Brennen Colwell kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Rathose's Blathmac Savic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derin Walker in the 24th minute of play. Derin Walker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Blathmac Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brendan McJames during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Brendan McJames kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Casey Hunt put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Berrigan Sheridan. Bernard McLiam hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the game, Casey Hunt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Berrigan Sheridan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boddibevve McLian charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boddibevve McLian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Boddibevve McLian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Derin Walker to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Derin Walker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Neves FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Derin Walker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blathmac Savic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Berrigan Sheridan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey Hunt in the 58th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Blathmac Savic prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rowland Deans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rowland Deans got free with Berrigan Sheridan in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casey Hunt couldn't finish the play. Reginald Lavine was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 97 played minutes Rathose got a freekick which was hit by Reginald Lavine. The Neves FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rathose were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
