Castle Celtic's Colmcille Gough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradner Mullan in the 6th minute of play. Cloonlavis's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Blathmac McTommy scored to the left of an out of position Bragan Rogers, making the score, 1-0. If Lorcan John had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lorcan John sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edward Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 19 minutes, Alfred McDonald mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castle Celtic and the Cloonlavis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Alfred McDonald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bragan Rogers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blathmac McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blathmac McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Castle Celtic getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Brendann Hutton hit a great ball. After 36 played minutes Castle Celtic got a freekick which was hit by Alfred McDonald. After a defensive mix-up in Castle Celtic's zone, Edward Cassin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Colmcille Gough came out of the goal and Edward Cassin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, one of Castle Celtic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Castle Celtic.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Blathmac McTommy made a kick off. Lorcan John struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Bragan Rogers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castle Celtic. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Cassin in the 66th minute of play forced Castle Celtic's goalkeeper Colmcille Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Cloonlavis's Edward Cassin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Colmcille Gough made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 77th minute, Lorcan John got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Blathmac McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castle Celtic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blathmac McTommy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blathmac McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bragan Rogers having to interfere. Lorcan John recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Castle Celtic booed when Cloonlavis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Byrne McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blathmac McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blathmac McTommy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bragan Rogers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Bragan Rogers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blathmac McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
